Mechanical and electromechanical Instruments
R.Lipp Upright Piano Thats where it all began when I was five years old; this is a beautiful upright Piano with diagonally span strings, so the bass strings are as long as in a baby grand N N ;-) N
Ibanez Musician, 6-string electric guitar When I became 20 years I wanted a guitar; a friends brother sold this beatiful early 70ies piece; very warm sounding. I added for every humbucker pickup two switches, one reverses the phase of the more middle spool, the other switches of the other spool. N Y N N
Hohner TS-12, 12 String electric guitar Black Telecaster shaped beaty; I removed the built in passive electronic (which made the guitar sound very "birds"-like) and did the same that I did with the Ibanez N Y N N
Hohner headless Bass A copy of the famous Steinberger 4 string bass; fine piece N N N N
Hohner Clavinet D6 Uuuuh, thats one of the things I use to show the ladies what the word "funky" really means N N N N
Wurlitzer 200A
Nothing to say about it. Assumingly the instrument I would pick for the lone island choice

Synthesizers
Korg MonoPoly A real dream of an analoge MonoSynth. I did a lot of modifications to it.
Y Y Y N
Moog Prodigy Classic monophonic Synth. I replaced the analogue Keyboard-electornic by an MIDI-Out -> MIDI-In. by Doepfer CTM64 and MCV4 So it is still playable like a normal Prodigy but can be integrated fully in a MIDI-Setup.
N Y N N
Doepfer A100 Modular System fine stuff, some modifications, some pre series release modules, some self done modules. There are some pictures of a portable version of the A100, I used while a music event in munich. Y N Y N
Doepfer MS404 modified with additional crossmodulation, gate to VCA Y N Y N
Roland JX3P heavily modified. I own two of them. One is updated with the kiwitechnics upgrade. Also I use the PG200 and the kiwitechnics PE.
Y Y Y N
Roland SH-101 not real mine, but the friend to whom it belongs knows it in good hands; added a parallel switch matrix to the keyboard for a pedal Y N N N
Roland SH-1
Rare monophonic synth with two envelopes and external input envelope follower. Very beefy but nevertheless versatile sound.
N N N N
Roland SH-2
Classic monophonic two oscillator synth. Modification: I added hard sync, the bender-to-VCO2-only switch now enables hardsync and switches the auto-glide envelope to VCO2 only  too.
Y N Y
N
Roland SH-3a
This was the synth I wanted to have when I was a young boy. 35 years later I bought the soundgeneration part only. Not working at the moment.
N N N N
Roland System 100
Semi modular synth. I own meanwhile the complete system
Y
N Y
N
Roland RS-09
Classic string machine.
N N Y
N
Roland Juno 6
Polyphonic analogue synth. I bought this one for little money at an ebay auction which showed pictures of an horrible optical state. But the seller said it would work fine. In fact it did and also the all over state was much better than the pictures showed.
N N Y N
Roland Jupiter 6
Polyphonic analogue synth.
N N Y N
Oberheim OBXa
Polyphonic analogue synth.
N N Y N
(Ensoniq ESQ-1) fine machine, gave it away to Rainer Buchty (www.buchty.net). I used the sequencer for live sequencing on stage. N Y Y N
Formant Modular System soldered with my own hands. My first synth.
Y N Y N
Nord Modular My first DSP-based synthesizer. Great toy. N N N N
(Waldorf
Microwave I)
Classic Wave-Table Synthesis module. I did not use it much, so I sold it.
N N N N
(Polymoog) I gave my polymoog to a guy from the synth diy maillist, but i still own the schematics and may help some people, so it is listed here. UPDATE: I found scanned schematics in the web at www.analoghell.com; since the download there does not work always, I provide them here too download N N Y N

Samplers
Akai S612 Old Sampler extended with a multisampling option. Very easy to handle, I use this small sampler the most; fine editor programm for Atari for the S612/S700 by Harald Plontke. The program is also available for the X7000. These applications run also perfect under Windows if used within a Windows-Emulator like STEem (I recommend to run the emulation with TOS 2.06). Y N N N
Casio FZ-1 This is a working horse; modified the sampling input for brighter sound Y N Y N
(Ensoniq Mirage DSK8) I wanted to have a 8Bit Sampler, it sounds quite rough (with little modification on the VCF), but I used it only twice a year. I gave it away to Rainer Buchty (www.buchty.net) Y N Y N

Electric drums and drum machines
Boss DR55 Nice little, step programmable drum machine. This was the first piece I modified after building the Formant Y N Y N
Sound Master Drumatix ST355 Nice little, step programmable drum machine. Similar to the DR-55, but with extended memory and more and different sounds. At the moment I am in adding some 16-Step sequence editing. Y N N N
Roland TR808 No comment needed; additional trigger in and outs, several plans for modification Y N Y N
Jomox XBase09 This is a highly recommended machine N N N N
(Tama TS305) Drum synthesizer; I sold this one. I am not sure whether I won't regret this. I really liked this machine. N N Y N
Dynacord Percuter Edrum expander which got his sounds from 8Bit EPROM modules, sounds a littlebit like the LINN 1 N N N N
Dynacord Percuter S Edrum expander which got his sounds from 8Bit EPROM modules, the difference about the "S" is that all sounds are tunable individually N N N N
Dynacord Big Brain Drum-Sequencer for the Percuter Series N N N N

Sequencers and Syncboxes
Roland SBX 10 Syncbox for MIDI <-> DIN-Sync <-> Clock N N N N
Roland SBX 80 Syncbox SMPTE-LTC -> MIDI -> DINSYC -> Clock N N N N
Roland CSQ-100 CV/Gate Sequencer N N N N
Roland CSQ-600 CV/Gate Sequencer (partially broken) N N N N
Elektron SFX60 Mk1
12 track sequencer with digital internal sound creation. I use it as MIDI sequencer. The synth part is good, but I prefer "real" synths over it.
N N N N
Additional I should mention that I work with emagics/Apple's Logic V7.2 on a Powerbook G4 and Sounddiver V3.x on an Win98 PC 800MHz, I use the UMT-8 interface. For live I use Ableton Live 6.x and the sequencers in the SH-101 and JX3P.

Recording and Mixing gear
Yamaha 2408M 24 channel InLine console, 3 band parametric EQ; I solved some earthing problems, modified aux sends and the tape-subchannel, that can be used now as additional routable auxsend Y N Y N
Studiomaster 16-4-2 Nice console with parametric bass and mid EQ, I started an extensive modification which I didn't finish since I have the Yamaha - shame on me. Assumingly I will wreck it down and make 19" EQs from it.
Y N Y N
Speck Xtramix
Highend stereo summing mixer. I used it as effects return, but found that I do not use its features. So it is for sale.
N
N
N

Behringer RX1602
simple 8 stereo in stereo rack mixer. I use it as effects return mixer and for summing the individual stereo signals from the other musicians of our live shows N

Behringer MX882
8-2-8 Mixer Distributor. I use it in my live rack to separate the signals for audience, recording and monitor N

Roland SRV-2000 Fine Reverb on its own, but - my Roland Dimension D is constantly patched in series to it - a dream of a reverb
N N N N
Roland Dimension D (SDD-320) The best stereo chorus ever built. N N N N
Roland SBF-325
Very fine Stereo Flanger
N N N N
Digitech TSR24-S True-Stereo Multieffect processor, I bought it as TSR24 with 10 MHz and extended it to the S-Version by the kit from Tubetester
N N N N
Korg R1000 Preset Reverb old stuff, makes fine noise N N N N
Korg KEC-42
A combined EQ and Dynamic; four parametric EQs and two compressor/noisegates.
N N N N
Dynacord DRP-15 Multieffects processor, on my humble opinion better sounding than the Digitech and easier to handle N N N N
Quantec QRS
Incredible room simulator. This is one of the first digital reverbs at all and it is still one if the best in the world.
N N N N
Yamaha 2020 Stereo compressor N N N N
Höf Dynamic Master The best limiter leveler I ever heard. I use it for my live recordings. (and for the people who search without german umlauts: Hoef or HOF Dynamic Master) N N N N
Langensee Compressor Limiter This is a clone of a UREI 1178. It is very well done by a german hobbiest. Check ebay for the seller langensee. N N N N
PRIME 4000E Mixbus Kompressor A truely wonderful stereo compressor. From PRIME analogue in Berlin. Check http://stores.ebay.de/PRIME-analog?_trksid=p4340.l2563
N N N N
Alesis ModFX Filtre,Phlngr,Faze, Smashup(2), Bitrman (2) - I really like those small boxes. The Bitrman is a hidden gem, and the smashup is a real cool compressor, Faze and Phlngr are ok, but not the greatest ones of their kind. N N N N
MXR Pitch Transposer I worked with it in the eighties and always wanted to have one again. So I ecently grabbed one on ebay (don't ask for the price, but its worth to me) N N N N
Dynacord VRS-23 An analogue delay based on BBDs. This delay produces very smooth reverb and Chorus effects, and I use it a lot. N N Y N
Boss DL-20 Footpedal delay effect. It is a nice remake of the famous RE-201. It is not perfect, but very close. The biggest lack is the short predelay before the reverb, and: if you enter a delay time via tapping, you will loose it after changing the "head"-selector knob.Nevertheless a very fine delay N N N N
Boss SL-20 A MIDI-Clocked Slicer and Looper. This is the biggest fun effect, since a long time. I use it with my RS-09 and it does endless trance stuff. REALLY REALLY GREAT! N N N N
Korg KaossPad Quad
Amazing live effects box
N N N N
(Vestakaza DIG-420) An digital delay. This delay is interesting because it provides an CV and Gate input and can be used for karplus strong synthesis within analog modular systems. I meanwhile sold this unit. But keep it here since there is only a few info in the Web about it.
N Y N N
Vestax M2002 Disco mixer with Delay and Sampling unit - I use this for monitoring but also for DubEffects. N N N N
Studer PR 99 MK I 1/4" tape recorder, I added tuning for the high frequency measurement, as it is realized in the PR99 MKII Y N Y N
Yamaha DT2 DAT Recorder. Broken :-( : the drive does not try to pull the tape after the cassette has been loaded.
N N N N
Tascam DA30
DAT Recorder. Bought it as replacement for the Yamaha.
N N N N
Sony ??? CD Player N N N N
