| R.Lipp Upright Piano | Thats where it all began when I was five years old; this is a beautiful upright Piano with diagonally span strings, so the bass strings are as long as in a baby grand | N | N | ;-) | N |
| Ibanez Musician, 6-string electric guitar | When I became 20 years I wanted a guitar; a friends brother sold this beatiful early 70ies piece; very warm sounding. I added for every humbucker pickup two switches, one reverses the phase of the more middle spool, the other switches of the other spool. | N | Y | N | N |
| Casio MG510, 6 String electric guitar, with MIDI Interface | For me this is in the first point a nice black stratocaster style guitar (the guitar is a Ibanez); the MIDI part is not that exciting; I bought it because I wanted to play guitarlike phrasings with the synths. I found it at least easier to play these phrasings on a synth, than pressing my guitar play under the inconvenience of the MIDI-converter; perhaps one day I will abuse the pickup for some analogue stuff... | N | Y | N | N |
| Hohner TS-12, 12 String electric guitar | Black Telecaster shaped beaty; I removed the built in passive electronic (which made the guitar sound very "birds"-like) and did the same that I did with the Ibanez | N | Y | N | N |
| Hohner headless Bass | A copy of the famous Steinberger 4 string bass; fine piece | N | N | N | N |
| Hohner Clavinet D6 | Uuuuh, thats one of the things I use to show the ladies what the word "funky" really means | N | N | N | N |
| Synthesizers | |||||
| Korg MonoPoly | A real dream of an analoge MonoSynth | Y | Y | Y | N |
| Moog Prodigy | Classic monophonic Synth. This one will be the synth, I will torture with modifications soon. Has anyone the schematics for the new(!) series? The schemoes for the old series are well known | N | N | N | N |
| Doepfer A100 Modular System | fine stuff, some modifications, some pre series release modules, some self done modules. There are some pictures of a portable version of the A100, I used while a music event in munich. | Y | N | Y | N |
| Doepfer MS404 | modified with additional crossmodulation, gate to VCA | Y | N | Y | N |
| Roland JX3P | heavily modified | Y | Y | Y | N |
| Roland SH-101 | not real mine, but the friend to whom it belongs knows it in good hands; added a parallel switch matrix to the keyboard for a pedal | Y | N | N | N |
| (Ensoniq ESQ-1) | fine machine, gave it away to Rainer Buchty (www.buchty.net). I used the sequencer for live sequencing on stage. | N | Y | Y | N |
| Formant Modular System | soldered with my own hands | Y | N | Y | N |
| Nord Modular | My first DSP-based synthesizer. Great toy. | N | N | N | N |
| Waldorf Microwave I | Classic Wave-Table Synthesis module. I have to admit, that i do not use it much. I you want it it, make me an offer | N | N | N | N |
| (Polymoog) | I gave my polymoog to a guy from the synth diy maillist, but i still own the schematics and may help some people, so it is listed here. UPDATE: I found scanned schematics in the web at www.analoghell.com; since the download there does not work always, I provide them here too download | N | N | Y | N |
| Samplers | |||||
| Akai S612 | Old Sampler extended with a multisampling option. Very easy to handle, I use this small sampler the most; fine editor programm for Atari for the S612/S700 by Harald Plontke. The program is also available for the X7000. These applications run also perfect under Windows if used within a Windows-Emulator like STEem (I recommend to run the emulation with TOS 2.06). | Y | N | N | N |
| Casio FZ-1 | This is a working horse; modified the sampling input for brighter sound | Y | N | Y | N |
| (Ensoniq Mirage DSK8) | I wanted to have a 8Bit Sampler, it sounds quite rough (with little modification on the VCF), but I used it only twice a year. I gave it away to Rainer Buchty (www.buchty.net) | Y | N | Y | N |
| Electric drums and drum machines | |||||
| Boss DR55 | Nice little, step programmable drum machine. This was the first piece I modified after building the Formant | Y | N | Y | N |
| Sound Master Drumatix ST355 | Nice little, step programmable drum machine. Similar to the DR-55, but with extended memory and more and different sounds. At the moment I am in adding some 16-Step sequence editing. | Y | N | N | N |
| Roland TR808 | No comment needed; additional trigger in and outs, several plans for modification | Y | N | Y | N |
| Jomox XBase09 | This is a highly recommended machine | N | N | N | N |
| (Tama TS305) | Drum synthesizer; I sold this one. I am not sure whether I won't regret this. I really liked this machine. | N | N | Y | N |
| Dynacord prototype | unnamed prototype of an Edrum expander which got his sounds from 8Bit EPROM modules, sounds a littlebit like the LINN 1 | N | N | N | N |
| Sequencers and Syncboxes | |||||
| Roland SBX 80 | Syncbox | N | N | N | N |
| Recently I accquired a broken Roland CSQ-600 (either broken RAM or broken powersupply; maybe I should change the capacitors); the schematics are available. | |||||
| Additional I should mention that I work with emagics/Apple's Logic V7.2 on a Powerbook G4 and Sounddiver V3.x on an Win98 PC 800MHz, I use the UMT-8 interface. For live I use Ableton Live 6.x and the sequencers in the SH-101 and JX3P. | |||||
| Recording and Mixing gear | |||||
| Yamaha 2408M | 24 channel InLine console, 3 band parametric EQ; I solved some earthing problems, modified aux sends and the tape-subchannel, that can be used now as additional routable auxsend | Y | N | Y | N |
| Studiomaster 16-4-2 | Nice console with parametric bass and mid EQ, I started an extensive modification which I didn't finish since I have the Yamaha - shame on me. | Y | N | Y | N |
| Roland SRV-2000 | Fine Reverb | N | N | N | N |
| Digitech TSR12 | Multieffect processor, a littlebit too smooth, too plastic like | N | N | N | N |
| Korg R1000 | Preset Reverb old stuff, makes fine noise | N | N | N | N |
| Dynacord DRP-15 | Multieffects processor, on my humble opinion better sounding than the Digitech and easier to handle | N | N | N | N |
| Yamaha 2020 | Stereo compressor | N | N | N | N |
| Alesis ModFX | Phlngr,Faze, Smashup(2), Bitrman - I really like those small boxes. The Bitrman is a hidden gem, and the smashup is a real cool compressor, Faze and Phlngr are ok, but not the greatest ones of their kind. | N | N | N | N |
| MXR Pitch Transposer | I worked with it in the eighties and always wanted to have one again. so I ecently grabbed one on e*ay (don't ask for the price, but its worth to me) | N | N | N | N |
| Dynacord VRS-23 | An analogue delay based on BBDs. This delay produces very smooth reverb and Chorus effects, and I use it a lot. | N | N | Y | N |
| Vestakaza DIG-420 | An digital delay. This delay is interesting because it provides an CV and Gate input and can be used for karplus strong synthesis within analog modular systems. | N | Y | N | N |
| Vestax M2002 | Disco mixer with Delay and Sampling unit - I use this for monitoring but also for DubEffects. | N | N | N | N |
| Studer PR 99 MK I | 1/4" tape recorder, I added tuning for the high frequency measurement, as it is realized in the PR99 MKII | Y | N | Y | N |
| Yamaha DT2 | DAT Recorder | N | N | N | N |
| Sony ??? | CD Player | N | N | N | N |
